About Us

Sarah, Lisa and Matt spent many days working in Assemblymember Deborah Glick’s office at 853 Broadway together, where we each launched our careers in public service. The time that has passed once we walked out of those doors has brought us a wealth of diverse experience, insight, and skills at agencies and non-profits across the country, and an even deeper appreciation for the people who choose careers of service. So it felt right to name our company after the place where it all started.

853B works to boost the morale of workers across the country. With a specialized focus on civil servants and nonprofit employees, our aim is to help transform workplaces and give employees tools to craft their own personal narratives and bring teams closer together in a meaningful way.

As governments and entities across the country try to address issues of quiet quitting, low morale, and a disengaged workforce, 853B aims to improve organizational capacity by helping staff (re)find joy in their mission-driven work.

We are Minority and Woman-owned Business Enterprise (M/WBE) Certified.

Areas We Serve

853B serves both government and nonprofit sectors, recognizing the unique challenges each sector faces. For government employees, our team, comprised of long-time public-sector professionals, intimately understands the intricacies of navigating rigid structures, seeking career mobility, and bridging the gap between bureaucratic realities and personal fulfillment. We tailor support programs to help public servants reconnect with their work, colleagues, and the mission of public service. In the nonprofit realm, our extensive experience acknowledges the pressures professionals face, emphasizing that a connection to the mission, while foundational, may not be sufficient during challenging times. Our programs aim to address burnout, quiet quitting, and empower nonprofit teams to navigate crises and achieve sustainable success.
